Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has advised Desola Afod to drop her former husband Kunle Afod’s surname if she believes it is attracting disrespect. Toriola made the remarks while reacting to Desola’s complaint that theatre professionals had disrespected her at a recent celebrity gathering.
Toriola criticised Desola for allegedly addressing theatre professionals collectively instead of identifying the individual involved in the dispute. She said such comments were disrespectful to an industry that supports her career and urged Desola to mention specific people if she had a problem with them.
The actress also revealed that she had previously remained silent during disagreements involving Desola because she did not want to disrespect Kunle Afod, a senior colleague. Desola and Kunle reportedly separated in February 2026 after years of breakup rumours and public speculation about their marriage.
