Three Nigerian players, Christiana Uzoma, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Janet Akekoromowei, have received nominations for the 2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards following their performances for club and country.
CAF announced the nominees on Tuesday, November 3, ahead of the awards ceremony scheduled for December 7 in Lagos. Uzoma was nominated for the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award following her performances for Edo Queens and Nigeria’s youth teams.
Meanwhile, Adegbuyi and Akekoromowei made the shortlist for the Women’s Young Player of the Year award. Nigeria’s Super Falcons also received a nomination for the Women’s National Team of the Year category despite their quarter-final exit at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
