Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has commissioned Joseph and Esther Homes, a residential facility for elderly citizens established by veteran Nollywood actress Sola Sobowale in Ibadan.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, attracted dignitaries, guests and well-wishers. The facility is designed to provide safe, independent and dignified living for older people, with personalised care and a supportive community.
Operating under the tagline, “Live Well, Age Well, Thrive Together,” Joseph and Esther Homes describes itself as a place where elderly people can receive professional care without losing their connection with family. The organisation explained that its philosophy is to support families in caring for ageing parents rather than replace their role.
