President Bola Tinubu made a verbal slip on Wednesday while speaking at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election in Abuja. During the event at the Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, he mistakenly referred to himself as “Governor Bola Tinubu” before correcting the statement.
The error occurred as The president acknowledged Abdulaziz Yari, the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council. While speaking about the campaign’s goal of securing a second term for the president, He said, “The recognition of the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council that will bring Governor Bola Tinubu back for second term,” before realising the mistake.
Meanwhile, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike warned members of the campaign council that they should not claim success if they failed to deliver their respective states for Tinubu’s re-election. Wike expressed confidence that Rivers State and the FCT would support the president, praised the attendance of governors Chukwuma Soludo and Ademola Adeleke, and defended the administration’s record.
