The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has dismissed the growing “Tinubu Must Go” campaign, claiming it is driven by opposition politicians and does not represent the views of Nigerians. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, he expressed confidence in the APC’s chances ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Yilwatda argued that the opposition’s past electoral performance gives the ruling party an advantage. He also compared President Bola Tinubu with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing Tinubu as “far better,” and pointed to changes in the electricity sector that allow state governments to participate in power generation, transmission and distribution.

The APC chairman also recalled Tinubu’s support for several political figures, including Atiku in 2007, Nuhu Ribadu in 2011 and former President Muhammadu Buhari in later elections. According to Yilwatda, Tinubu supported these figures in the interest of national unity, even when political alliances later changed. He maintained that the APC remained confident despite campaigns against the president.
