The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested six fugitives on its most-wanted list in operations spanning four continents over alleged fraud-related activities. FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrests on Sunday, saying the suspects had spent a combined total of more than 4,000 days evading authorities.
Patel also highlighted Operation Blackout, an international campaign targeting suspected scam centres, which he said had led to the seizure of nearly $17 billion, the arrest of hundreds of alleged scammers and the rescue of thousands of trafficked workers. He added that more than 10,000 Americans had received warnings that helped prevent an estimated $670 million in financial losses.
The six arrested suspects were identified as Manjit Singh Bedi, Elaine Agene Esco, Khalid Ahmed Satary, Herbert Leon Kimble, Sahid Abdullahi Ereg and Emylee Thai. Patel said the FBI would continue working with international partners to pursue suspects accused of defrauding Americans and dismantle criminal networks operating across borders.
