Human rights activist Deji Adeyanju has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will defeat Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 presidential election. He argued that Tinubu could secure at least 25 per cent of the votes in every state, including Atiku’s home state of Adamawa.

In a post on X, Adeyanju said he expected Tinubu to achieve the nationwide spread of votes that other presidential candidates would struggle to match. He added that northern Nigeria could be the region where the opposition might have a chance of producing a different outcome.

Meanwhile, Segun Sowunmi has questioned Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi’s ability to represent poor Nigerians, citing their long years in public office. Speaking on Vanguard’s Politics Hub, Sowunmi argued that Atiku’s time as vice president and his privileged political background made it difficult for him to understand the struggles of ordinary citizens.
