Eko Hotels & Suites marked its golden jubilee on October 2, 2026, with The Legacy Gala & Awards night at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. The celebration brought together more than 1,000 guests, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Kadri Hamzat, business leaders and entertainment personalities. International musician Wyclef Jean and Nigerian highlife star Flavour performed at the event.

Beyond the glamour, the anniversary highlighted the hotel’s five-decade contribution to Nigeria’s hospitality industry, employment and cultural tourism. Under its leadership team, including Managing Director Ghassan Faddoul and General Manager Danny Kioupouroglou, the institution continues to expand beyond accommodation through initiatives such as Theatre @ Eko Hotels, Tropical Christmas Wonderland and Hakuna Matata Theme Park.

The golden jubilee also reflected the hotel’s wider ambition to promote African creativity and tourism as drivers of economic growth. Earlier in May, Eko Hotels hosted the Africa Legacy Summit, which brought together stakeholders to discuss culture, investment, sustainability and the future of tourism. As the institution enters its next chapter, its focus remains on sustaining excellence, developing new experiences and strengthening Lagos’s position as an international destination.
