Cristiano Ronaldo has rejected suggestions that his remaining time with Portugal should be treated as a ceremonial farewell, insisting that he still wants to compete for the national team. The veteran forward said there would be time for a farewell match in the future, but his current focus remains on playing and competing.

The Portugal captain also recalled one of the most difficult moments of his international career, when he learned about his father’s death while with the national team. Ronaldo said he chose to remain with the squad until after their next match, describing the decision as an example of how deeply he values representing his country.

Ronaldo stressed that his priority with Portugal is still competition rather than preparing for the end of his international career. He said his commitment to the national team remains strong despite his age and that he does not want his final years with Portugal reduced to farewell celebrations.
