Nigeria is stepping up efforts to attract global investment into its creative economy through new policies, financing programmes and investment frameworks aimed at creating jobs and strengthening the sector.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, disclosed this at the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) event in Lagos, which brought together government officials, investors, financial institutions and creative industry stakeholders.

She said the initiative is part of the Federal Government’s strategy to position Nigeria as a leading destination for investment in Africa’s cultural and creative industries.

Oduwole highlighted several government initiatives, including Nigeria’s first National Intellectual Property Policy and Strategy, the Creative Sector Investment Playbook and efforts to unlock more than $600 million in financing for digital and creative businesses through the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (IDICE) programme.
