Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has revealed that he intends to conduct a DNA test before accepting any child born to his future wife as his own. The “Body Cheche” singer made the disclosure during a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, where he also discussed his plans to sign a prenuptial agreement before marriage.
Mayorkun said he had already discussed both arrangements with his girlfriend, although she was unhappy with the idea of a DNA test. According to the singer, he wants the test to establish paternity before taking responsibility for a child, while the proposed prenup would form part of his plans for marriage.
The singer also said he had considered conducting the DNA test without informing his partner and explained that the outcome would determine how he responds. His comments have contributed to ongoing discussions in Nigeria about paternity testing, prenuptial agreements, trust and responsibilities within relationships, although he presented the views as his personal approach to marriage and fatherhood.
