Cristiano Ronaldo has described representing Portugal as one of the greatest privileges of his career, saying he gave everything to the national team throughout his 23 years of service. The 41-year-old made the remarks in an emotional farewell message following his decision to retire from international football.

Cristiano Ronaldo, whose international journey began in August 2003, admitted that handing over the national team shirt and captain’s armband was an emotional decision. He said his memories went beyond goals, records and trophies, highlighting the bond he built with Portuguese supporters and the pride he felt representing his country through victories and difficult moments.

The Al-Nassr forward also thanked his teammates, coaches, medical personnel, football administrators, support staff and family for standing by him throughout his career. He encouraged younger Portuguese players to keep dreaming and working hard, adding that although records may be broken, the memories and connection with supporters would remain.
