Amaechi Claims Credit for Lekki Seaport

ADC vice-presidential candidate Rotimi Amaechi has claimed he supervised the construction of the Lekki Deep Seaport from start to finish. He also accused President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of taking credit for the project.

Amaechi made the claims on Thursday at an ADC stakeholders’ meeting in Edo State while discussing plans to develop the proposed Gelegele Seaport. He said several deep seaport projects, including Lekki Deep Seaport, were approved under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former transportation minister acknowledged that the Lekki project was conceived before Buhari’s administration but said his ministerial role placed him in charge of overseeing its development. Amaechi further claimed that Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu took credit for the project despite not being involved from the beginning.
