Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has directed security agencies to investigate the disruption of Wednesday’s APC presidential campaign rally in Lafia and ensure those responsible are held accountable.

Former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura and former Inspector-General of Police Muhammad Abubakar Adamu, who were reportedly named as suspected sponsors, denied involvement and challenged the government to provide evidence. Sule described the incident as an embarrassment and ordered investigators to question suspects regardless of their former positions.

The government alleged that thugs wearing Al-Makura’s picture obstructed Vice President Kashim Shettima’s convoy and that some opposition supporters disrupted the rally. He and Adamu, through their representative Makpa Malla, described the allegations as politically motivated and demanded that any credible evidence linking them to the incident be presented to the appropriate authorities.
