https://popular1.ng/Activist and politician Aisha Yesufu has expressed concern over a possible last-minute postponement of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, suggesting it could create an opportunity for electoral manipulation. In a post on her X account on Sunday, Yesufu said she suspected the polls might be shifted by a week shortly before election day.
Aisha Yesufu argued that such a delay could put politicians under financial pressure because candidates may have already spent their campaign funds and would need additional resources to sustain their efforts. She urged opposition politicians and their supporters to prepare for different possible scenarios while warning them not to adopt the same wrongdoing they oppose.
The activist said her approach was to consider potential challenges in advance and develop strategies to address them. However, her comments reflected her concern and suspicion about a possible scenario, rather than evidence that a plan to postpone the 2027 elections had been established.
