Mautin Tairu, manager of Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe, has admitted that he has also grown tired of the actor’s repeated portrayal of loud, stereotypical Igbo characters in some movies.
Tairu made the revelation while responding to an X user who urged Arukwe to take a break from the roles, saying the frequent shouting had become exhausting. Uzor’s manager acknowledged sharing the concern at some point but explained that professional decisions do not always reflect personal preferences.
According to Tairu, such characters are more common in YouTube productions because of audience preferences and the demands of the platform. He added that the actor’s cinema projects do not feature the same repetitive character portrayals, noting that different platforms require different career strategies.
