Nigerian author and journalist Tomi Falade has showcased African literature and culture at the 2026 Helsinki Book Fair in Finland. She led a delegation of Nigerian creatives at Stand 7f118 following an invitation from AFAES, a Helsinki-based multicultural nonprofit organisation.

The exhibition, held from October 22 to 25 at the Messukeskus Exhibition Centre, featured literature, visual art, and traditional crafts. Falade presented four of her books to international audiences: OLÓBÙN: Matriarch of Ondo, Mother of Legacy, Orompotoniyun: 12 Nights For A Crown, Alayemore: The Twice-Crowned King, and Dates From Hell.

Tomi Falade said visitors showed strong interest in the books, including readers who requested their eBook versions. She also disclosed that her sister, Oluwafunmilayo Falade, was discussing possible partnerships with Finnish publishers to produce translated editions. Falade had also spoken at a diplomatic event in Finland on October 21, where she discussed the role of culture in regional development in Africa.
