Actress and baby mama of singer Portable, Ashabi Simple, has begun her National Youth Service Corps programme. The actress, whose real name is Akinyanju Omobolarinde, announced the milestone on Friday with a video of herself in her NYSC uniform.
Portable’s Baby Mama expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity, describing the programme as a long-held dream that has finally become reality. She also recalled her mother’s wish for her and her sister to attend school and wear the corps uniform.
According to Ashabi, it took her five years after secondary school to begin university and another three years after graduation to start the NYSC programme. She thanked everyone who supported and encouraged her, adding that one of her mother’s wishes was becoming a reality.
