Oyo State Governor and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, has urged Nigerians to accept money offered by politicians during elections but make their voting decisions according to their conscience. He gave the advice on Saturday while addressing supporters at his presidential campaign rally in Bauchi State.
Makinde argued that voters should not feel guilty about collecting such money, insisting that it belongs to the people. He said supporters should accept the money but vote for their preferred candidate, expressing confidence that their choice would favour the APM.
The governor also promised to overhaul Nigeria’s economy, security system and political environment if elected president, urging Nigerians to embrace his Reset Nigeria agenda. His running mate, Lawal Daura, criticised dishonesty in Nigerian politics, while the party’s national leader, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, endorsed Makinde’s ambition, describing him as hardworking and committed to inclusiveness.
