Former presidential aide Laolu Akande has alleged that President Bola Tinubu was marginalised and humiliated during Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, saying he personally witnessed instances of the treatment within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast, Akande claimed Tinubu was sidelined despite his contributions to Buhari’s emergence as president in 2015. He said Tinubu remained in the party, continued his political activities and eventually succeeded Buhari in 2023.
On the 2027 elections, Laolu Akande dismissed claims that the APC deliberately divided opposition leaders, attributing their challenges partly to ego. He urged Atiku Abubakar to put personal ambition aside and take the initiative in building a united opposition against Tinubu.
