Davido’s logistics manager, Israel Afeare, popularly known as Israel DMW, has said Edo State cannot deliver 2.5 million votes to President Bola Tinubu. The Edo State indigene made the statement in an Instagram post on Friday, questioning claims about the number of votes the state could produce.
He cited former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, whom he described as widely loved in the state, arguing that even Oshiomhole had been unable to deliver 500,000 votes to his party during presidential elections. He also pointed to past election results as evidence for his position.
Speaking to The Punch on Saturday, Israel DMW reaffirmed his comments, saying the state’s voting figures did not support the expectation of 2.5 million votes. He added that not everyone who votes would necessarily support the All Progressives Congress and expressed his view that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would make a better president.
