Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory, has urged the Senate to ensure that government agencies perform their duties in line with the law. She made the call during Thursday’s plenary while supporting a motion by Senator Abdul Ningi seeking strict compliance with Senate resolutions.
KIreti ingibe said the Senate must use its constitutional powers to ensure that decisions made in the interest of Nigerians are implemented. She stressed that when government institutions fail to comply with Senate resolutions, the appropriate action should be taken through due process.
The senator added that lawmakers’ responsibilities extend beyond passing laws and approving budgets to ensuring accountability and addressing citizens’ concerns. She maintained that Nigerians deserve a government that listens, acts and delivers, pledging to continue advocating for the rule of law and the needs of her constituents.
