The Federal Government has announced a ₦50,000 monthly cash relief programme for eligible vulnerable Nigerians under its National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation said the money would be paid directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts or mobile wallets through licensed financial institutions. Minister Bernard Doro explained that beneficiaries would be selected through verified national identity records and the National Social Register.

The ministry said beneficiaries do not need to apply, pay any fee, or register through agents. They will receive notifications requesting approval before payments are made. Nigerians were also warned against scammers and advised not to disclose their PIN or Bank Verification Number (BVN).
