The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Seriake Dickson, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to correct the omission of some of the party’s candidates from its published list ahead of the 2027 elections. Dickson said all affected candidates completed their registration before the statutory 21-day deadline and expressed confidence that the commission would address the issue.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the former Bayelsa State governor reassured the affected candidates and party supporters that steps were being taken to resolve the matter. He maintained that the NDC had fielded qualified candidates who emerged through what he described as a rigorous screening process, and called on INEC to rectify the omission promptly.
Dickson also urged party members to continue consultations, town hall meetings, mobilisation and campaign preparations across states and constituencies despite the issue. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to its preparations for the 2027 elections and expressed confidence in its chances at the polls.
