Dele Momodu, Deputy Director-General of Media and Communications for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential campaign, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu once partnered with Atiku Abubakar because he recognised his presidential credentials. Momodu made the statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.
Dele Momodu argued that Atiku has been a focused presidential aspirant since 1993. Comparing the credentials of Tinubu, Atiku and Peter Obi, he highlighted Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos governor, Atiku’s experience as vice president and Obi’s time as governor of Anambra State. He also argued that Tinubu underestimated the challenges of governing Nigeria compared with Lagos.
The ADC campaign official further accused the Tinubu administration of lacking sincerity in its handling of the economy, alleging that government officials were telling the President what he wanted to hear instead of confronting him with the country’s realities. These remarks reflect Momodu’s political assessment of the administration and the candidates.
