Senior Pastor of Victory Life Bible Church International, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, has urged Nigerians to embrace creativity, integrity and purposeful living by using their talents to contribute to national development. He made the appeal during a thanksgiving service marking the 50th anniversary of the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Abeokuta.
Achudume lamented that many talented Nigerians were abandoning productive ventures for politics because of the perceived financial benefits of political office. He also criticised the celebration of questionable wealth, indecent dressing and social media popularity, urging young people to prioritise character, responsibility and meaningful contributions to society.
Citing Daniel 11:32, the cleric encouraged Nigerians to maintain strong convictions despite life’s challenges. Ogun NUJ Chairman, Wale Olanrewaju, commended him for his contributions to journalism and society, describing him as a social crusader. In recognition of his support, Achudume received the Ogun NUJ Golden Jubilee Ambassador Award.
