National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has warned against any attempt to manipulate or rig the 2027 general elections. Mark spoke on Wednesday in Abuja during a visit by the governing council of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development, led by former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.

Mark said the ADC would follow electoral rules and its internal code of conduct but would not accept electoral manipulation. The former Senate President also warned against using state institutions to influence the outcome of the elections, stressing the need to protect the credibility of the electoral process.

Ariwoola said the centre was engaging political parties and other stakeholders to secure commitments to peaceful, free, fair and credible elections. He urged the ADC to ensure its candidates and supporters comply with Independent National Electoral Commission rules and avoid actions that could lead to political violence.
