Dangote Refinery has increased its diesel price from ₦1,700 to ₦1,800 per litre, reversing part of a recent price reduction, according to a report by Daily Post. The latest adjustment came three days after the refinery reduced its price from ₦1,780 to ₦1,700 per litre.
Despite the increase, the refinery’s diesel remained cheaper than products sold by several depot operators, including Pivot, African Terminal and Integrated, which reportedly offered the product at ₦1,905 per litre on Saturday. This left Dangote Refinery’s price ₦105 lower than the depot rate cited in the report.
The price adjustment could put additional pressure on retail diesel costs in Abuja and surrounding areas, where prices were reportedly between ₦1,960 and ₦1,980 per litre. The development comes amid elevated international crude oil prices, with Brent crude reported at $104 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate at $91 per barrel.
