Nigerian entertainer Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has revealed how losing the 2023 general election affected him emotionally and contributed to his decision to enter pastoral ministry. The singer, actor and entrepreneur shared the experience while marking his first anniversary as a pastor.
Banky W, who contested for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the defeat left him heartbroken. He explained that he turned to God for direction, questioning whether his future lay in politics, entertainment, business or ministry.
According to Banky W, he later realised that he did not have to choose between his different callings. He said he continues to work as a filmmaker, musician and entrepreneur while serving as a pastor and professor, adding that the election loss ultimately helped him reflect on his purpose and faith

How on earth does Banky w thinks he will win am election just because he’s popular, I feel he’s pain is unessary. If he can be president it simply means even potable can come out one day and become out president. In his widest imagination it won’t happen
