Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has pledged to mobilise his Rainbow Coalition Movement to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja on Monday, Wike urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to work together towards their shared political objectives.
The meeting, held at Wike’s official residence in Life Camp, Abuja, brought together party officials, FCT area council chairmen, National Assembly candidates, former federal lawmakers and community representatives. Wike attributed the APC’s victory in the Edo State governorship election to cooperation between the APC and members of what he called the legacy PDP, saying a similar partnership would be pursued ahead of the 2027 general election.
He said he would coordinate the coalition’s political activities and expressed confidence in its ability to support Tinubu’s re-election and National Assembly candidates. While he initially referred to backing APC candidates, he later said the movement would also support candidates from both the PDP and APC, adding that members had agreed to support Tinubu for another term.
