Virgin Atlantic has celebrated 25 years of operations in Nigeria with a special awards evening in Lagos, recognising travel partners who have contributed to the airline’s growth in the country.
The event, held at The George Lagos Hotel on October 22, 2026, brought together airline executives and industry stakeholders. Chief Commercial Officer Dave Geer described Nigeria as one of the airline’s most important markets, while Country Manager for West Africa Yann Stirton revealed that ticket sales in Nigeria now generate more revenue for the Lagos route than sales in any other market, including the United Kingdom.
Several travel companies received awards for their contributions, including ALML Travels and Tours, Wakanow.com, Touchdown Travels, 247 Travels, Cinderella Travels, FCM Travels and Ajala Travels. Virgin Atlantic also reaffirmed its commitment to improving customer experience through fleet upgrades, premium cabin improvements and the expansion of free Starlink Wi-Fi across its aircraft.
