Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has brushed aside criticism of his recent performances for Galatasaray, insisting that negative comments will not shake his confidence. He made his point on Wednesday night by scoring in Galatasaray’s 4-2 victory over his former club Lille and earning the Man of the Match award.
Osimhen had faced scrutiny after Galatasaray lost 4-1 to Barcelona and secured a narrow 1-0 win over Gençlerbirliği. Speaking after the Lille match, the forward said he was not afraid of challenges and would not allow outside opinions to affect how he plays football.
The striker said critics did not truly know him and that he was choosing to ignore the noise. Galatasaray will now turn their attention to the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe as they aim to maintain their position at the top of the Turkish Super Lig, where they have 19 points from eight matches.
