Nigerian filmmaker Tunde Kelani’s political drama Agogo Èèwò (2002), the follow-up to his acclaimed film Saworoide, is now available in a newly remastered version on TK ÒPÓMÚLÉRÓ’s YouTube channel.

The film follows the fall of military ruler Lagata in Jogbo, where corrupt chiefs install Adebosipo, played by late veteran actor Dejumo Lewis, as king, hoping to control him and continue exploiting the kingdom’s treasury. However, Adebosipo refuses to cooperate, demanding accountability and challenging the chiefs over their actions.

Written by Professor Akinwunmi Isola and directed by Tunde Kelani, the film centres on corruption, leadership and traditional accountability. Its defining moment comes during an oath-taking ceremony before the sacred Agogo Èèwò, where anyone who has stolen from the land must confess before the gong sounds seven times. The remastered film is now available on YouTube via TK ÒPÓMÚLÉRÓ.
