Nigerian gospel singer Evangelist Tope Alabi has warned social media users against publishing or sharing content that could damage her personal, professional or spiritual reputation.

The warning was contained in a public notice issued by her lawyers, Oakmount Legal Practitioners, and shared on her Instagram page on Friday, October 23, 2026. The legal team cautioned that people who repost or circulate allegedly defamatory material could also face legal consequences, even when using anonymous accounts.

Tope Alabi lawyers said possible legal action could include claims for damages, injunctions, retractions and public apologies. However, they clarified that the notice was not intended to prevent truthful statements, fair criticism or lawful freedom of expression.
