Popular gospel singer Tope Alabi has given Canada-based preacher Tayo Kumuyi 24 hours to withdraw social media allegations linking her to the death of fellow gospel singer Toluwanisings. Alabi’s lawyers, Oakmount Legal Practitioners, issued a cease-and-desist letter dated October 24, 2026, warning that legal action would follow if the preacher failed to comply.
According to the letter, Kumuyi allegedly published posts on his Facebook page, Pastor Tayo Ministries, between October 20 and 24, accusing Alabi of murder and ritual killing. Her legal team described the allegations as false and damaging, stating that no evidence from a police investigation or court ruling had been provided to support them. The lawyers also expressed concern over a post they interpreted as a threat against the singer.
Tope Alabi’s lawyers have demanded that Kumuyi delete the posts, stop further publications, preserve relevant evidence, and publish an unreserved retraction and apology on the same Facebook page for 14 consecutive days. They warned that failure to meet the demands would lead to a lawsuit seeking damages and other legal remedies. Toluwanisings, whose real name was Olayemi Bolaji, died on October 14, 2026, at the age of 41.

Ah ah this is so insensitive and unfair for a person in a pastoral position.
