Nollywood actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh has clarified misconceptions about when she gave her life to Christ, saying her relationship with God began in childhood. During an interview with Kikelomo Abati, she explained that her recent public expressions of faith did not mark the beginning of her spiritual journey.
Tonto Dikeh revealed that she was once close to becoming a pastor at the age of 17, insisting that her spiritual experiences and the messages she attributed to God happened privately. She said these personal encounters were not intended to be public demonstrations to convince others of her faith.
In January 2026, the actress also spoke about her longstanding spiritual calling, recalling that she had nearly become a pastor at 19 before leaving that path. She explained that she had attended church since finishing secondary school but acknowledged that personal struggles and life experiences contributed to her drifting away from her faith
