Akanbi Elizabeth, widow of late Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings, broke down in tears while paying tribute to her husband at a memorial event in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday.
During the emotional tribute, Elizabeth struggled to complete her speech before expressing how deeply she would miss her husband. “Toluwanisings, my dear husband. I will forever miss you. Please do not forget your children and I,” she said. Several gospel artistes, including Adeyinka Alaseyori, Esther Igbekele, Laolu Gbenjo and Bidemi Olaoba, attended the event alongside Nollywood actress Bimbo Oshin and other celebrities.
Toluwanisings, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, died in Ibadan on October 14, 2026, after reportedly slumping. His death has sparked concerns over alleged delays in accessing emergency medical care, calls for an investigation and disagreements between his widow and father over his burial arrangements.
