Rufai Oseni Questions Peter Obi’s Consistency Ahead of 2027 Election

Arise Television’s Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, has questioned the consistency of Peter Obi’s political positions ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Oseni argued that the former Anambra State governor had lost some of the supporters who backed him in the 2023 election because of what he described as changing positions.

Rufai Oseni made the remarks while reacting to comments by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Don Ulasi, who described Obi as a serious opposition figure capable of challenging President Bola Tinubu. However, Ulasi expressed concerns about the opposition’s preparedness, citing what he viewed as insufficient grassroots mobilisation and town hall meetings by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership.

The broadcaster also questioned Obi’s visibility and pointed to reported disagreements within the NDC, including tensions involving the OK Movement. He further criticised Obi’s statements on petrol subsidy, arguing that his position had changed between supporting its retention and proposing to address corruption within the system.
