Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has criticised his former club following their 4-1 defeat to Como in the UEFA Champions League. Ferdinand described United’s attacking display as ineffective and questioned the team’s energy after the loss to the Italian side.
Como secured the victory through goals from Nico Paz, who scored twice, Anastasios Douvikas and Jacobo Ramón. Joshua Zirkzee scored a late consolation for Michael Carrick’s team at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, but his effort could not change the result.
Reacting to the performance in a post on X, Rio Ferdinand said Manchester United were “toothless in attack” and lacked “running power” against Cesc Fabregas’ side. He also gave credit to Fabregas. United will now turn their attention to their Premier League fixture against Bournemouth at Old Trafford this weekend.
