Pastor Emmanuel Iren has spoken about the role of secrecy and anonymity in encouraging immoral behaviour, particularly pornography, among churchgoers. In a viral video, he claimed that a significant number of regular churchgoers struggle with pornography and said the internet has made it easier for people to engage in such behaviour privately.

Iren cited what he described as a statistic that 50% of churchgoers view pornography at least once every two weeks, suggesting that someone sitting nearby could potentially be struggling with the habit. He argued that the anonymity provided by the internet has contributed to increased immorality because people may behave differently when they know they are being watched.

The pastor also encouraged accountability for people dealing with pornography and other private struggles. According to Iren, keeping such habits secret can make them more difficult to overcome, while accountability can help people confront destructive behaviours and create environments that discourage them from acting in secret.
