OPay has announced that only customers who receive a special notification on their mobile app are eligible for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 monthly relief payment.

The fintech company made this clarification in a post on X on Tuesday. It explained that selected beneficiaries would see a pop-up on their app homepage with instructions on receiving the money.

OPay warned customers against fraudsters, stressing that it would never request their PIN or OTP. The company also advised users not to pay agents or click unverified links.
