Nigerian rapper Olamide Adedeji has spoken out in support of Nigerian culture and traditional practices, insisting that they should not be labelled diabolical or demonised.
The YBNL boss made the remarks in a video shared by actress Sotayo Gaga on Instagram on Wednesday. He explained that he wants people to appreciate their cultural heritage and take pride in their identity. Olamide also identified himself as a Yoruba man, saying he would gladly accept traditional black soap.
He specifically mentioned black soap, popularly called ose dudu in Yoruba, as an example of a traditional African product.
The skincare product is commonly made from ingredients such as plantain skins, cocoa pods and palm kernel oil and remains part of traditional African bathing and beauty practices.
