Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of bitterness over President Bola Tinubu’s emergence as Nigeria’s president. In a statement on Friday night, Keyamo attributed Atiku’s recent criticisms of Tinubu to frustration over their different political fortunes.
He recalled that Atiku was once considered ahead of Tinubu in the race for the presidency, arguing that Tinubu’s victory on his first attempt had intensified the rivalry between the two politicians. He also urged people close to Atiku to support him rather than encourage his public attacks on the president.
The minister went further by describing Atiku’s conduct as “agitated depression” and saying he needed mental health support. These were Keyamo’s personal assertions, not an established medical diagnosis, as he argued that political power depended on timing and divine providence.
