Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has explained why she abandoned her signature pink look, saying personal growth influenced her decision to embrace other colours.
Speaking in an interview with GQ Poland, DJ Cuppy said pink had represented her identity for many years, symbolising power, vibrancy, femininity and self-expression. However, she said she no longer wanted to be defined by a single colour.
The entertainer traced her pink fashion identity to the beginning of her career about 17 years ago, when she used the colour to express her femininity in a male-dominated industry. She added that she can now represent herself through different colours, describing her current style as vibrant, grounded and ethnical.
