Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha has recalled a prophecy he received before going to prison, claiming he was told that he would become a great man after experiencing a painful calamity. The actor shared the account during a courtesy visit to Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho at his residence.
According to Baba Ijesha, the revelation predicted that he would go through a difficult period that would bring him to tears before the prophecy came to pass. He linked the experience to his subsequent imprisonment, describing it as the major hardship mentioned in the prediction.
The actor’s comments follow his release from prison in November 2025 after serving a sentence in a case involving the sexual assault and indecent treatment of a child. The Lagos State High Court convicted him on July 14, 2022, and sentenced him to five years for sexual assault and three years for indecent treatment of a child, with both sentences to run concurrently.
