Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved fresh appointments into his administration, including new Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs). He also appointed Alhaji Moshood Kewuyemi as the Chief Imam of the Government House Mosque, according to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Sunday.
Among the newly appointed SSAs are Folashade Ogunoye on Gender, Aminu Saidi Tunde on Islamic Religious Affairs, Rev. Tunde Ogunsuyi on Christian Religious Affairs, Kemisola Obamoyegun on Housing and Dr Oluwatobi Aruwajoye on Primary Health. Other appointments include portfolios covering Muslim Women Affairs, Christian Women Affairs and Women Mobilisation, while additional SAs were appointed with responsibilities listed in the official appointment statement.
The statement said the appointments are intended to strengthen the administration and improve coordination across different sectors, with the new roles taking immediate effect. Separately, a joint operation involving the Nigerian Army, DSS and Amotekun reportedly killed a suspected senior ISWAP figure, Abdussamad Ohida, also known as Anwar, during an operation in a forest in Owo; security sources alleged that he was linked to several past attacks and was planning further attacks.
