The Chairman of Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, Dr Adeola Adetoro, has presented N30 million in scholarship and bursary awards to deserving students in the council. The presentation took place at the council secretariat as part of the administration’s efforts to support education and reduce the financial burden on families.

Adetoro said the initiative was designed to help students cover tuition, accommodation, textbooks, transportation and other academic expenses. He also highlighted other educational programmes introduced by the council, including free GCE registration, academic coaching, distribution of school materials, spelling bee competitions and vocational training for youths.

The chairman urged beneficiaries to remain focused on their studies, uphold discipline and avoid social vices. He also encouraged young people to reject political violence ahead of the 2027 general election, while promising to expand educational opportunities through scholarships, digital literacy and vocational programmes.
