Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has disagreed with Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre over his request not to discuss politics during the commissioning of a pedestrian flyover built by the church in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Wike said Pastor Enenche had cautioned him against campaigning or discussing politics during the ceremony. However, the minister argued that preaching against bad governance in church was also a form of political discussion.
Wike insisted that he would not agree to avoid politics entirely, adding that the commissioning of a public project should involve more than thanking God and leaving. He also recalled that his first encounter with Enenche and his wife was in 2015, when he invited them to a year-end praise and thanksgiving event during his time as Rivers State governor.
