Former presidential aide Laolu Akande has claimed that some individuals around President Bola Tinubu do not want former Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola in the current administration. He made the allegation during an interview on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast.
Akande said Fashola’s absence could partly be due to fatigue but argued that resistance from people close to the President was a bigger factor. He described the former minister as someone who stands by his principles and would not tolerate certain practices within the government.
The former aide added that Fashola remains close to Tinubu and that the two have not had a major public disagreement. However, Akande suggested that underlying tensions could exist despite the absence of an open confrontation.
