The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has accused the Federal Government of making life harder for Nigerians through what he described as unrealistic policies and poorly executed projects. He made the remarks at the MakindeDaura 2027 Presidency South-South Town Hall meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Makinde questioned the impact of government initiatives, including the Presidential Initiative for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and the naira-for-crude arrangement. He argued that such programmes had not delivered the expected relief in transportation costs for millions of Nigerians, while large projects risked being abandoned before completion.
The APM candidate also challenged the government to publish its pricing template for petroleum products, saying Nigerians should be able to examine the figures and assess how the policy would work. He urged the authorities to provide clear, practical details rather than introduce policies that, in his view, place additional pressure on citizens.
